Go Here… Boom Battle Bar
Boom – noun: A loud, deep, resonant sound.
A deep roar of cheering hits me as I make my way into the main room. I look to my left and see arms raised in celebration as a thrown axe lands dead centre of target. My eyes are instantly lit up with the loud, in-your-face colour pallet of neon lights paying homage to retro-80s synthwave aesthetic. Infectious laughter and feel-good-vibes resonate along open pipes on the ceiling above, and bounce off industrial-chic seating and chainlink fence zone dividers.
Immediately, boom by definition is achieved.
Boom Battle Bar is the newest activity venue and bar to take Exeter’s city centre by storm. It’s edgy and urban, yet warm and exciting, and caters to a multitude of people looking for a good time in a social setting.
Seven different game offerings allow you to tailor your visit to suit your group. Can’t choose between ping pong or axe throwing? Then don’t! Easily book sessions for one, two, three or more activities to dabble in a whole variety and see who comes out on top.
Shuffleboard offers a seemingly casual activity that isn’t too dissimilar to curling or boules, but played on a sand covered table. I say seemingly, as this game became most competitive when our group visited. Be warned!
Classic American pool is complemented by darts with a twist – this time with augmented reality bringing state-of-the-art technology to this timeless bar game, adding multiple game modes to encourage group play.
You’ve probably tried crazy golf but at Boom, it’s crazier golf. This nine-hole course sits at the back of the venue and packs in a real punch. Expect catapults, loops, conveyor belts and more for a game of golf you’ll not forget.
Boom is cool yet inclusive too – ensuring all ages and abilities are welcome. Families with children 11+ can enjoy the full Boom experience from opening until 7pm, while 7pm til late sees the venue become strictly over 18s only. It’s a smart way to tailor to multiple groups, juggling children’s birthday parties and family days out with date night couples and groups of friends and family looking for a fun night out.
What’s more, a well-stocked bar means a large range of drinks and cocktails are readily available and the reasonably priced Boom Bites (including fries, nachos and chicken wings) will keep you fuelled up so you don’t have to stop the fun.
Grab some friends and inject some boom into your social life.
