Teign Bean
Mamhead Obelisk, Starcross, Teignmouth, Dawlish Warren and Exminster
www.teignbean.co.uk
Going from strength to strength since they first launched in January 2019, Teign Bean has developed a reputation not just for being in handy spots such as Mamhead Obelisk and Starcross, but for offering great coffee and delicious locally produced bakes. A visit there isn’t complete without trying their famous sausage rolls made by The Ginger Cat Deli in Cullompton, followed up with a brownie by Kenn’s Kakes.

Fuelled by Caffeine
Bovey Tracey – MAKE Southwest, Stover Coffee Van, Bakers Park Kiosk
www.fuelledbycaffeine.info
What started as a hobby for Dan and Jo has exploded into a local staple in Bovey Tracey with static sites as well as a mobile van at Stover Country Park – ideal for parents who need fuel for a walk with the kiddies. As well as their outstanding locally roasted coffee they offer a tantalising menu of hot soup with ciabatta, sourdough toasties, and a selection of cakes including scones with cream and jam – perfect fuel for outdoor fun.

Fifty Degrees North
Salting Hill, Budleigh Salterton
www.facebook.com/Fiftydegreesnorth
With stunning sea views on the beautiful Budleigh seafront, Fifty Degrees North is the ideal place for a spot of lunch whether you’re cycling past or taking a pew on the pebbles. Serving fresh and local Budleigh crab sandwiches, Chunk pasties and sausage rolls, and their iconic yoghurt topped flapjacks, this is a pit stop with panache.

Wobbly Wheel Café
Partridge Cycles, Kennford,
www.partridgecycles.co.uk/pages/cafe
If you’re an avid cyclist, there is no better place to stop for a refuel on or after a ride. Dishing up breakfasts, lunches, and brunch, this relatively new venture allows you to watch the talented mechanics at Partridge at work in an environment that celebrates all things cycling. The name derives from the old petrol station that once stood here, but now it’s a place to meet like-minded individuals and check out memorabilia too. We think their date and walnut flapjacks are worth the ride out there alone!

Sundays
Exeter Quayside
www.instagram.com/sundays_exeter
The coolest surf and coffee venue outside of Cornwall, Sundays is all about the laidback vibes coupled with delicious eats and drinks. Visit for their breakfast bagels, loaded flatbreads, and on-point cakes, and stay for the chill atmosphere and picturesque location. It’s not uncommon for pigeons to wander in through the door too!

The Duck & Bean
Fore Street, Tiverton
www.theduckandbean.co.uk
Situated in the beating heart of Tiverton, The Duck & Bean is the ideal place for a brunch or lunch date with your four-legged friends – they even have their own menu! Choose from the likes of Duck hash (for you) and a Pupcake with a Puppichino (for them) – just what you need to fuel a nice long walk.
