Did you know that Monday 21st March is the United Nations International Day of Forests? Here in Exeter, Mid Devon, East Devon, Exmouth and Newton Abbot, we are blessed with easy access to some stunning forests and woods and as you may know, we have explored many of them in our One Magazine walks. Here is our round-up of the 7 best forest walks in beautiful Devon.

This hidden National Trust owned forest offers a variety of route lengths to suit the whole family. Expect picnic spots galore, giant redwoods and countryside views.
2. Core Copse Circular Walk
Enjoy far stretching views across the Sid and Ottery Valley from this peaceful wooded ridge.
3. Black Alder Wood Circular Woods
This strenuous walk rewards you with far-stretching views across the Teign Valley and up to Mid Devon. In summer you can enjoy a stunning array of wildflowers plus peaceful woodland and rural charm.
4. Fingle Bridge to Drogo Weir Walk
Make your way along the Fisherman’s Path to see the salmon leap on this moderate walk near Castle Drogo.
5. Stover Country Park
Indulge yourself in peaceful woodland, marshland, and beautiful lakes on this family-friendly circular route.
6. River Coly Circular Walk
This East Devon route has everything you could want from a countryside walk – riverside relaxation, enchanting woodland, far-stretching hilltop views, and quaint thatched cottages.
7. Harpford Woods Circular Walk
Discover the disused 19th century railway line from Feniton to Sidmouth before taking in dramatic views of East Devon and the Sidmouth coastline from Fire Beacon Hill.
